Ryan Sheckler is a Professional skateboarding from Sant Clemente, California. He was born on December 30, on 1989. He started rolling on a skateboard when he was 18 months, and when he was 4, he could do ollies (jump on flat).  At 7, he got a mini-ramp in the backyard and he started skating every day.

Between 1999 and 2002, Ryan won a lot of competitions on the Vans Warped Tour. He was the winner at the U.S. Open of Skateboarding. He won the California Amateur Skateboard League State Championship and the Gravity Games Amateur Challenge and the Best Trick Contest vs pros.

Then in 2003 he became pro.

Special Writing Task

When I was younger, my dad used to tell me a story about when he was a teenager. When he was a teenager he went to the US to visit his uncle and he was at the airport something happened.  At terminal 2 of the Chicago airport, two men were fighting.  One had a gun and was about to shoot the other one:  The shooter was a crazy man and all the people were screaming and laying on the floor.  When the police arrived tried to stop the shooter and calm him down.  In the end, the shooter gave the gun to the police and they took him to jail.  I don't know if my father made the story up or if it really happened, but it's his story and I believe him.
